Sea Trials Aboard the Watermelon

The new boat (a.k.a. "The Watermelon") finally arrived on Thursday.

Over the weekend, we took the Watermelon out for sea trials out on Beach Pond. It was a gorgeous sunny day and just perfect for our first trip out. After a few "getting into the boat mishaps" at the boat launch, I was finally in. I suspect there were be a few bruises showing up over the next few days.

When do I get to drive?

"We have to have 10 hours of time on the engine before we can go really fast!"

I think we should try going over there.

Wine Tasting - June 11, 2010 - Priam Vineyards

My friend Christina invited me to join her and some other CSC ladies for a "Girls Night Out Wine Tasting." It sounded like it would be a good time and of course, I accepted!

We agreed to meet after work on Friday at the Priam Vineyards (11 Shailor Hill Rd, Colchester, CT). Priam Vineyards opened in April 2003 and are opened Friday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm (open on Fridays til 7pm during the summer months). It is in a very pretty and tranquil area with an outdoor patio and picnic tables. Visitors can bring their own food items to enjoy the with wines from the vineyard.

Priam has two wine tastings: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 is $7 and includes 3 whites and 2 reds and you get to keep your glass. Level 2 is $14 and includes all of Level 1 plus 4 additional whites. Our group decided on the Level 1.

After we finished up our Tasting, we decided to purchase a few bottles of the wine and bring the party outside. We each enjoyed a glass of wine and were able to recork the bottles to bring them home with us.
