April 24, 2010 - A Visit to Lake Winnisquam and Our New Boat

In March we decided that it might be time to retire our boat. It was getting on in years, and we were afraid that it might start having issues! We went to a boat show in Massachusetts and saw the one we wanted. The dealer was located at Lake Winnisquam, New Hamphire. We needed to go up there with our trade in and take the new one for a test drive. The weekend weather had not been cooperating so when we heard that Saturday was going to be sunny, we decided to head up north. It is about 175 miles from my house and about a 3-hour drive. We left early and hit minimal traffic. We got to Winnisquam Marine at about 10:30am.

This was our boat we were trading in. Chris took very good care of it and the dealer was pretty happy with its condition. It was sad to leave it there!!

The new one...

While waiting for the dealer to get our new one in the water, we walked down to their docks. Lake Winnisquam is sure a pretty place.

Another view from the dock. Of course, the "vacation planning button" in my brain clicked on...this would be a great place to rent a vacation cabin!

We took the new boat out for a test drive. It sure has lots of features and goes very fast! Chris seemed to like how fast we were going!

I know I look pretty happy back here! Surprisingly it was not too cold out on the water!!

After selecting the add-ons we wanted...a swim platform, bimini top, and an hour meter on the engine, we headed back home. The boat is being delivered at the end of May...so hopefully, we will have some nice warm weekend days this summer.

Of course, at Chris' insistence, we stopped at the outlet stores in that area! We couldn't decide on where to have lunch and out of desperation, we ended up at a Cracker Barrel. Big mistake,,,food just wasn't what we were used to!! Oh well..next time, we will investigate our options a little more!
